Soccer Recap: Denver East Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Denver East couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Cherokee Trail Cougars who were credited with the win on Tuesday. The Cherokee Trail Cougars got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Denver East Angels' two. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Denver East couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Harrison Augur, who's now up to three this season.

Denver East's defeat ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-2-3. As for Cherokee Trail, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3-3.

Denver East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cherokee Trail, they have already played their next matchup, a 1-0 win against Legacy on the 8th.
