After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Magnolia Science Academy Van Nuys, Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Lake Balboa College Prep Cougars by a score of 3-1. The match marked the Griffins' most dominant victory of the season.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (87-84) Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 9-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Lake Balboa College Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jarrel Quinones had 13 digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Quinones.

Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Lake Balboa College Prep, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.
