Baseball Game Preview: Midland Mustangs vs. Augusta Red Devils

Midland is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Augusta a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Midland Mustangs will take on the Augusta Red Devils at 12:24 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Tuesday, Midland didn't have quite enough to beat Salem and fell 3-2.

Midland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gunner Buie, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double. Brayden York also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Augusta's offense. They lost 10-0 to Bald Knob on Tuesday.

Augusta's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Midland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Midland took their win against Augusta in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-3. Does Midland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Augusta turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
