It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Westmoreland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Portland Panthers by a score of 17-14. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered an 8-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tobin Tucker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tucker was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Grant Lilly was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Cooper White, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Westmoreland and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Portland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Westmoreland will have a chance to go back-to-back against Portland: the pair will be back at it again later today.
