Volleyball Game Preview: Rincon/University Rangers vs. Millennium Tigers

The Rincon/University Rangers will venture away from home to square off against the Millennium Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Rincon/University is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Hamilton just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rangers have suffered since March 6th.

Rincon/University was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Hamilton work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 29-27, 25-20.

Rincon/University's defeat came about despite a quality game from Nic Sanchez, who had 14 digs and two aces. Sanchez has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Millennium, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past Shadow Ridge 3-0 on Thursday.

While Millennium won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 25-13.

Rincon/University's loss dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Millennium, their win bumped their record up to 20-14.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Rincon/University hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 5.8 blocks per game. It's a different story for Millennium, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 blocks. Given Rincon/University's sizable advantage in that area, the Tigers will need to find a way to close that gap.
