Basketball Game Preview: Mio-Au Sable Thunderbolts vs. Oscoda Owls

The Mio-Au Sable Thunderbolts will venture away from home to challenge the Oscoda Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Friday, Mio-Au Sable lost to Hillman on the road by a 59-43 margin. The loss continues a trend for the Thunderbolts in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Rogers City typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Oscoda proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Hurons by a score of 35-24.

Oscoda is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.5 points over those games. As for Mio-Au Sable, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Mio-Au Sable came up short against Oscoda when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 47-37. Can Mio-Au Sable avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
