Football Recap: Heritage's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday + How To Watch

Heritage's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to East Wake on Friday. The Huskies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Franklinton Red Rams, sneaking past 23-20. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Heritage's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Xavier Williams, who threw for 164 yards and two TDs. Those 164 passing yards gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Stokes, who picked up 102 receiving yards and one score.

Heritage didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Simon Sefton, Derek Cooley, and Bryen McKoy picked up one apiece. Heritage is 2-1 when Cooley posts one or more interceptions, but 0-4 otherwise.

When it comes to explaining why Franklinton lost, don't look at Jamaal Epps. Despite the final result, he picked up 145 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Heritage's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Franklinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Heritage didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-33 victory against Vance County on the 17th. As for Franklinton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-0 win against East Wake on the 17th.
