Volleyball Game Preview: Lakeview Vikings vs. Skutt Catholic SkyHawks

The Lakeview Vikings will face off against the Skutt Catholic SkyHawks at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Lakeview sitting on seven straight victories and Skutt Catholic on eight.

On Saturday, Lakeview got the win against Pius X by a conclusive 3-0.

While Lakeview won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-21, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Skutt Catholic made easy work of Seward on Saturday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-20, 25-10.

Lakeview better focus on containing Marin Brummund and Mia Stevens as the pair were huge in Skutt Catholic's win. Brummund had 15 digs and three aces, while Stevens had 15 assists and six digs. That's the most digs Brummund has posted over her last six matches.

Skutt Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 28-10. As for Lakeview, their win bumped their record up to 30-4.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's contest: Lakeview has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Skutt Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.1 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
