Basketball Game Preview: Frontier Titans vs. Hoover Patriots

The Frontier Titans will face off against the Hoover Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hoover took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Frontier, who comes in off a win.

Hoover better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Frontier really get things going. Frontier blew past Garces Memorial 63-38 on Thursday. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Hoover suffered their closest defeat since January 16, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Sanger by a score of 53-50. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Apaches: they've now lost three in a row.

Frontier will need focus on slowing down RJ Franklin, one of several Hoover players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Cesar Juarez, who had nine points.

Frontier is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. As for Hoover, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.

Frontier strolled past Hoover in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 50-31. Does Frontier have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hoover turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
