Basketball Recap: Canfield Picks Up 12th Straight Win on the Road

Canfield won the last time they faced Boardman and things went their way on Friday too. The Canfield Cardinals managed a 55-49 win over the Boardman Spartans. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Spartans are ranked 133rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Canfield's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Boardman, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canfield and West Branch will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Canfield is facing West Branch at the right time seeing as West Branch is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Boardman, they will host Hoover at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoover has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 180 points over their last three contests.
