Basketball Game Preview: Saint Viator Lions vs. Marist RedHawks

Saint Viator is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Marist is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Saint Viator Lions will host the Marist RedHawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Saint Viator is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 76-49 victory over Thornton Fractional South. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Red Wolves are ranked 280th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Marist hadn't done well against Brother Rice recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Marist secured a 56-51 W over Brother Rice.

Saint Viator is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Marist, their win bumped their record up to 19-2.
