Volleyball Recap: Broomfield Falls Short of Cherokee Trail in the Playoffs

Broomfield and Cherokee Trail squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Broomfield had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cherokee Trail Cougars. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Broomfield started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-19, 25-23.

Addie Dotson paced Broomfield's offense, picking up 18 kills. Dotson got some help from Ava Sondrup and her 27 assists. Sadie Elliot controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Broomfield's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Cherokee Trail, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.

Broomfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cherokee Trail, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Westminster on the 9th.
