Baseball Game Preview: Madison West Regents vs. Janesville Craig Cougars

For the second straight game, Madison West will face off against Janesville Craig. The Regents will head out to challenge the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Madison West has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight losses, while Janesville Craig will come in with three straight wins.

Last Tuesday, Madison West didn't have quite enough to beat Janesville Craig and fell 3-2.

Madison West got a good showing from Max Zuehlke, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Seb Pietz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Janesville Craig pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Madison West, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
