Softball Recap: Decatur Wins Going Away Against Federal Way

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Enumclaw, Decatur was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Federal Way Eagles with a sharp 15-4 win. The Golden Gators haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Decatur got a massive performance out of Jordyn Davis-Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave Davis-Thompson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Audrey Deviney, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Decatur always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Decatur's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Federal Way, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Decatur is set to face off against their familiar foe Auburn Mountainview at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Federal Way will challenge rival Kent-Meridian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
