Palmetto Christian Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Cathedral Academy, who was ranked ninth at the time (Palmetto Christian Academy was ranked 11th). Palmetto Christian Academy enjoyed a cozy 44-26 win over Cathedral Academy on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Palmetto Christian Academy considering their ten-point performance the game before.

A big part of Palmetto Christian Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Jake Johnson and his top target Caden Beville. Johnson picked up 123 receiving yards and three scores while Beville threw for 188 yards and four TDs on only nine passes. Landon Provost was in the mix as well, providing Palmetto Christian Academy with one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Cross was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Holly Hill Academy, falling 56-12.

Palmetto Christian Academy moved to 2-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Cross, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything came up roses for Palmetto Christian Academy against Cross when the teams last played back in September, as the squad secured a 56-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palmetto Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
