Volleyball Recap: Six Straight Road Victories for Stamford

Stamford hadn't done well against Darien recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Black Knights were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Blue Wave. The victory was familiar territory for the Black Knights, who have now won three matchups in a row.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 27-25, 25-19.

Alec Antipuesto paced Stamford's offense, picking up 19 kills. Antipuesto got some help from Ethan Taylor and his 37 assists. Antipuesto also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with MD Arfat Chowdhury, racking up two apiece.

Darien's loss came despite strong showings from Robert Garcia and Tucker Galu. Garcia had 11 digs, while Galu had four aces and three digs.

Stamford's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. As for Darien, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Stamford is set to challenge their familiar foe Warde/Ludlowe at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Darien will square off against rival Danbury at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
