Volleyball Recap: Shade Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Shade was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Forbes Road on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers came up short against the Meyersdale Red Raiders on Monday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Shade was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.

Kennedy Landis paced Shade's offense, picking up six kills. Landis got some help from Lowen Mincek and her 12 assists. Finally, Landis was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Shade now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Meyersdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Shade has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Turkeyfoot Valley Area on the 16th. As for Meyersdale, they will square off against Everett at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
