Basketball Recap: Lutheran West's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Saturday

On Saturday, the Lutheran West Longhorns were able to grind out a solid victory over the Westerville South Wildcats, taking the game 64-57. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Wildcats are ranked 301st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lutheran West is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Westerville South, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Lutheran West will square off against Glenville at 11:45 a.m. on January 5, 2025. As for Westerville South, they will face off against Dublin Coffman at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
