Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends South Plainfield's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but South Plainfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Colonia Patriots by a score of 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, South Plainfield sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 21-25, 25-9.

South Plainfield's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Colonia, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. South Plainfield will venture away from home to face off against Hillsborough at 4:30 p.m. on the 27th. As for Colonia, they will challenge Union at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
