Football Recap: Davis Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Davis extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They had to suffer through a 42-14 loss at the hands of the Sunnyside Grizzlies. The Pirates lost against the Grizzlies in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 42-35 score last time.

As for Sunnyside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4. 42 seems to be a good number for them as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Sunnyside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Villanueva, who threw for 135 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 43 yards and one score. Ryan Hendrickson helped out on the ground, rushing for 170 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Coincidentally, Davis and Sunnyside will both be playing Wenatchee the next time they take the field. The Pirates will host the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Grizzlies will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
