Newberry's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Newberry who was credited with the win. Newberry got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Mid-Carolina Rebels's one. Newberry's winning goal came courtesy of Juliette Carmona.

Newberry is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those eight matchups. Mid-Carolina's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Newberry will welcome Swansea at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th. Newberry's defense better be ready for this one: Swansea has averaged an impressive 3 goals per game this season. As for Mid-Carolina, they have already played their next contest, a 16-0 win against Eau Claire on the 28th.
