Baseball Game Preview: Newton Railroaders vs. South Cougars

The Newton Railroaders will take on the South Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Newton is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering McPherson just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Bullpups by a score of 8-7.

Three must be South's lucky number: they beat Eisenhower with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Tigers 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yaden Montanez, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

South's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Newton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-18.
