Soccer Game Preview: Coconut Creek vs. Piper

The Coconut Creek Cougars will face off against the Piper Bengals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Coconut Creek has three straight wins, Piper has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Coconut Creek's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Monarch 3-0. Considering the Cougars have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Monarch with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jeff Saint-Juste, Ryan Paulime, and Jovens Alexis.

Meanwhile, Piper managed to keep up with Deerfield Beach until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Piper came up short against Deerfield Beach, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Bucks are ranked 153rd).

Coconut Creek's victory bumped their record up to 11-2-2. As for Piper, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11-1.

Everything went Coconut Creek's way against Piper in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, as Coconut Creek made off with a 5-2 win. Will Coconut Creek repeat their success, or does Piper have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
