Baseball Recap: Wheeling Comes Up Short

Wheeling managed to slip by Conant the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats lost 7-1 to the Cougars on Monday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Wheeling has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-19 record this season. As for Conant, they moved to 13-18-1 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coming up, Wheeling will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Maine West at 4:45 p.m. The last five games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Conant, they will take on Prairie Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
