Soccer Game Preview: Gilroy vs. Evergreen Valley

The Gilroy Mustangs will face off against the Evergreen Valley Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gilroy will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last.

Gilroy's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Oak Grove as Gilroy made off with an 8-0 win. It was an even better day for Erik Munoz Diaz as he scored three goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Evergreen Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 5-1 to Santa Teresa. The contest was a close 2-1 at the break, but unfortunately for the Cougars it sure didn't stay that way.

Evergreen Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Gilroy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1-2.

Everything went Gilroy's way against Evergreen Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, as Gilroy made off with a 3-0 win. Does Gilroy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Evergreen Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
