Softball Game Preview: Choctawhatchee Indians vs. Fort Walton Beach Vikings

Choctawhatchee is 0-10 against Fort Walton Beach since April of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Choctawhatchee Indians will square off against the Fort Walton Beach Vikings at 2:00 p.m. The last three games Choctawhatchee has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Thursday, Choctawhatchee didn't have quite enough to beat Gulf Breeze and fell 4-3.

Choctawhatchee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabbi Barnowsky, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Fort Walton Beach entered their match against Niceville on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Fort Walton Beach took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Niceville. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rilyn Douglas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits.

Fort Walton Beach suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 6-3. As for Choctawhatchee, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Choctawhatchee might still be hurting after the 18-1 defeat they got from Fort Walton Beach when the teams last played last Monday. Can Choctawhatchee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
