Baseball Recap: O'connor Drops Highest Score of Season Against Judson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask O'Connor). They blew past the Judson Rockets 13-1 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on James O'Connor, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Jayden Contreras was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run.

O'Connor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for O'Connor and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Judson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers face off against the WILDCATS at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Judson, they will challenge East Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Judson has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
