Recap: Richmond Raiders vs. Southern Lee Cavaliers
The Richmond Raiders can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 67-17 victory over Southern Lee on the road. The win was nothing new for Richmond as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Richmond's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamyia "Juicy" Lindsey, who scored 27 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Lindsey has scored at least a third of Richmond's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasiah "JoJo" Gilchrist, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 steals.
Richmond is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Southern Lee, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richmond will face off against Pinecrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pinecrest is on a three-game streak of home wins, Richmond a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Southern Lee, they will head out on the road to square off against Scotland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Scotland presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southern Lee in North Carolina (Scotland is ranked 123rd, while Southern Lee is ranked 574th).
