While Manzano's win against West Mesa wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Manzano Monarchs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the West Mesa Mustangs 4-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Aljaris Pineda was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Bryce Walter, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Manzano pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for West Mesa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manzano will welcome Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manzano is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season. As for West Mesa, they will square off against Del Norte at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
