Recap: Whitinsville Christian Crusaders vs. Sutton Sammies

The Whitinsville Christian Crusaders were the 47-44 winner over the Sutton Sammies when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Whitinsville Christian received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 46-29 to Sutton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Whitinsville Christian has scored all season.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabe Deters, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Deters, who scored eight points.

It was another big night for Cam Benedict, who scored 18 points for Sutton. The game was Benedict's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Marchand, who scored ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Whitinsville Christian and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Sutton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitinsville Christian will take on Nipmuc Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Nipmuc Regional's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. As for Sutton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Douglas at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Douglas is ranked 123rd, while Sutton is ranked 121st).
