Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Hawks vs. Carman-Ainsworth Cavaliers

The Heritage Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Carman-Ainsworth Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Heritage is headed into Friday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday. The contest marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Carman-Ainsworth had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 84-45 win over the Lightning. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Lightning are ranked 348th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carman-Ainsworth's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.7 points per game. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Heritage strolled past Carman-Ainsworth when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a score of 61-46. Will Heritage repeat their success, or does Carman-Ainsworth have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
