Softball Recap: Altamont Finds Home Field Redemption Against Oblong

There's no place like home for Altamont, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Oblong Panthers 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Grace Lemke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on one hit and racked up 19 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Altamont's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oblong, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
