Baseball Recap: West Jessamine Comes Up Short

West Jessamine and Woodford County pushed the score to 11-10 the last time they played Woodford County, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. The Colts fell 3-0 to the Yellowjackets. The Colts have struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

West Jessamine got a good showing from Dylan Milholland, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Milholland gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March.

West Jessamine's loss dropped their record down to 7-14-1. As for Woodford County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, West Jessamine and Woodford County will both be playing Sayre the next time they take the field. The Colts will head out to face the Spartans at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Yellowjackets will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
