Football Game Preview: Sheridan Yellowjackets vs. Sylvan Hills Bears + Official Tickets

The Sheridan Yellowjackets will venture away from home to challenge the Sylvan Hills Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sheridan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Sylvan Hills likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Sheridan came up short against Marion and fell 61-51. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Sheridan might have lost, but man, Zay Stephens was a machine: he rushed for 218 yards and four scores while picking up 12.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 44 receiving yards. Stephens showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 58 yards. Dylan Smith was another key player, picking up 181 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Sylvan Hills faced Jonesboro in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bears walked away with a 49-42 win over the Hurricane. The victory was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won four games in a row.

Sheridan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sylvan Hills, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Everything went Sheridan's way against Sylvan Hills in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Sheridan made off with a 65-41 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
