Basketball Game Preview: Warren Warriors vs. Meigs Marauders

Warren is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Meigs is on a seven-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Warren Warriors will host the Meigs Marauders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Warren will head into Tuesday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 43-point drubbing they dealt Morgan on Tuesday. Warren simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Morgan 63-20. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Raiders are ranked 598th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hayden Wells went supernova for Warren, going 8 for 9 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Those 19 points gave Wells a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julian Stadelman, who went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points.

Meanwhile, Meigs got the win against Fort Frye on Tuesday by a conclusive 59-35.

Warren's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Meigs, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.

Warren strolled past Meigs when the teams last played back in December of 2019 by a score of 60-43. Does Warren have another victory up their sleeve, or will Meigs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
