Preview: Crimson Cliffs Mustangs vs. Cedar Reds
Crimson Cliffs has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Cedar Reds at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Crimson Cliffs' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven matchups.
Crimson Cliffs can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on October 11th. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 56-14 victory over Dixie. With Crimson Cliffs ahead 28-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Steele Barben continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 276 yards and four touchdowns. Barben hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Boston Adamson, who picked up 102 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Cedar was able to grind out a solid win over Pine View on Friday, taking the game 34-23. The win was just what Cedar needed coming off of a 42-19 defeat in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cedar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jt Jeter, who picked up 175 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jeter is on a roll when it comes to receiving yards, as he's now posted 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Tredyn Elliott was another key contributor, gaining 276 total yards.
Another reason for the win was Cedar's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Dahgo Houchen.
Crimson Cliffs' win was their eighth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Cedar, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Everything came up roses for Crimson Cliffs against Cedar in their previous meeting back in September as the team secured a 51-7 win. Does Crimson Cliffs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cedar turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
