Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Bolivar

Bolivar had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Buffalo on Friday. Bolivar blew past Buffalo 13-1. The game marked the Liberators' most dominant win of the season so far.

Kanton Fisher made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Garretson Cook was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gannon Young, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Bolivar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory keeps Bolivar at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.4 runs this season. As for Buffalo, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Bolivar will have a chance to go back-to-back against Buffalo: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
