Basketball Recap: Laurel Highlands Comes Up Short

Laurel Highlands lost against Penn-Trafford back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Laurel Highlands Mustangs fell 74-67 to the Penn-Trafford Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 412th, while the Warriors are ranked 176th).

Despite the loss, Laurel Highlands still got an impressive performance from Antwan Black, who posted 39 points. Black continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Smith, who had nine points.

Laurel Highlands has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Penn-Trafford, they pushed their record up to 13-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Laurel Highlands does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Penn-Trafford, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-45 win against Baldwin on the 18th.
