Recap: Dublin Scioto Irish vs. Worthington Kilbourne Wolves
The Dublin Scioto Irish's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 62-39 loss at the hands of Worthington Kilbourne. Dublin Scioto was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-17.
Dublin Scioto's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Niah Smedley, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and three steals. Smedley has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Magnussen, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Worthington Kilbourne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oliviah Wilkerson, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Riley Wilkinson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists.
Dublin Scioto dropped their record down to 7-9 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Worthington Kilbourne, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.
Dublin Scioto will look to defend their home court on Friday against Canal Winchester at 7:00 p.m. Canal Winchester presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dublin Scioto in Ohio (Canal Winchester is ranked 98th, while Dublin Scioto is ranked 397th). As for Worthington Kilbourne, they will head out on the road to face off against Hayes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
