Basketball Recap: Wisner-Pilger Gators vs. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears
After flying high against Lyons-Decatur Northeast last Tuesday, Wisner-Pilger came back down to earth. The Wisner-Pilger Gators took a hard 72-58 fall against the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears on Thursday. The Gators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Laurel-Concord-Coleridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carlie Kvols, who went 8-for-17 on her way to 22 points. Those 22 points gave Kvols a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rena Rasmussen, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards.
Wisner-Pilger's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season.
As of now, neither Wisner-Pilger nor Laurel-Concord-Coleridge have any future games scheduled.
