Basketball Recap: Avalon Comes Up Short

Avalon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt an 84-47 loss at the hands of the Geffen Academy Bruins. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1036th, while the Bruins are ranked 485th).

Nathan M was a one-man wrecking crew for Geffen Academy as he dropped a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds.

Avalon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Geffen Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Avalon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-43 loss against Newport Christian on the 9th. As for Geffen Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-38 win against Wildwood on the 9th.
