Softball Game Preview: Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs vs. Olney Trojans

After both having extra time off, the Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs and the Olney Trojans will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Olney will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Maritime Academy Charter extended their winning streak to three back in March. The Seadogs blew past Mariana Bracetti Academy 18-9.

Maritime Academy Charter got a massive performance out of Yareilis Santiago-Campos, who got on base in five of her eight plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Santiago-Campos is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Jordyn Kile was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Maritime Academy Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Olney came up short against Mariana Bracetti Academy last Tuesday, falling 26-10. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olney's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Maritime Academy Charter, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything went Maritime Academy Charter's way against Olney in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Maritime Academy Charter made off with a 23-4 win. Will the Seadogs repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
