Eastern is 6-1 against North Adams since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Warriors will square off against the Green Devils at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
North Adams will be up against a hot Eastern team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington on Thursday. Considering the Warriors have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Allie Grooms spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Breeanna Jimison, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Raylee Brummett also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, North Adams hadn't done well against Peebles recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Green Devils narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Indians 10-8. The victory was familiar territory for the Green Devils, who have now won three games in a row.
Carlee Garrison was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up seven earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Garrison was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs.
In other batting news, Paige Evans was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Riley Woods was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
North Adams was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Eastern pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Adams, their record is now 4-6.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Eastern hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .388. However, it's not like North Adams struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eastern took their win against North Adams in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-6 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Green Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
