Jordan was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Northern Durham on Tuesday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 16-7 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 11 games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Kylie Specht was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. She has been hot, having posted three or more hits the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jacqueline (JJ) Thornburg, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jordan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Durham only managed seven hits.
Jordan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Northern Durham, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.
Looking ahead, Jordan will venture away from home to square off against Hillside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
