Softball Recap: Swett Warriors vs. Hercules Titans

Swett and Hercules squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Swett had to settle for second. They came up short against the Titans, falling 13-7. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Titans this season, with their most recent defeat being a 22-9 loss two weeks ago.

Rebekah Millan was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and eight unearned) runs off nine hits. Millan was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Camryn Christian and Selene Schlepp stepped up to the plate in a big way. Christian earned two runs and two stolen bases, while Schlepp got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Christian has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mykele Boyd, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.

Swett has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season. As for Hercules, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8-1.
