Recap: Cox Mill Chargers vs. Sun Valley Spartans
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Cox Mill Chargers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. Their rough 44-18 loss to Sun Valley on Friday might stick with them for a while. Cox Mill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sun Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Cox Mill's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Cleaves, who picked up 131 receiving yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Jon Bissonnette, who threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns.
Cox Mill now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Sun Valley, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
Cox Mill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sun Valley will head out on the road to face off against Grimsley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Grimsley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
