Soccer Game Preview: Amundsen vs. Whitney Young

The Amundsen Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Whitney Young Dolphins at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Whitney Young took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Amundsen, who comes in off a win.

Amundsen will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Saturday, then bounced right back against De La Salle on Monday. The Vikings walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Meteors. Amundsen better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Raisa Yuille, as she scored every single goal for her team.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Whitney Young's offense. They fell 2-0 to Fenwick on Monday. Whitney Young have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Amundsen is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five matches. As for Whitney Young, they now have a losing record of 3-4-2.

Amundsen might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Whitney Young in their previous meeting back in May of 2017. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
