Softball Recap: Pahrump Valley Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Sports Leadership & Management

Pahrump Valley faced Sports Leadership & Management in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Pahrump Valley had just enough and edged out Sports Leadership & Management 10-9. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kayla Glenn made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Glenn was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Pahrump Valley got a massive performance out of Riley Saldana, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Colon, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Pahrump Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .395. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pahrump Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Sports Leadership & Management fell to 10-1.
