Soccer Game Preview: Ocean Lakes vs. Landstown

The Ocean Lakes Dolphins will face off against the Landstown Eagles at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Ocean Lakes beats Landstown with three goals on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Dolphins walked away with a 3-1 win over Tallwood on Monday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Ocean Lakes' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Tallwood are ranked 151st).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Landstown). They never let Green Run get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for Landstown in their matchups with Green Run: they've now won nine in a row.

The victory made it two in a row for Ocean Lakes and bumps their season record up to 11-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two games. As for Landstown, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Ocean Lakes came out on top in a nail-biter against Landstown in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Dolphins repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
