Baseball Game Preview: Raymond Central Mustangs vs. Platte Valley

Raymond Central is 0-3 against Platte Valley since April of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against Platte Valley at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Raymond Central is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 16-5 to Central City/Centura.

Raymond Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Matulka, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Lucas Den Hartog was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Platte Valley had taken Platteview down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. Platte Valley came up short against Platteview, falling 11-3. That's two games in a row now that Platte Valley has lost by exactly eight runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Platte Valley and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Raymond Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
